Story: I had in mind to do a Christmas CD (vocal) with my wife, so I started fiddling with the song Oh Holy Night on the keyboard and got a little carried away. This sounds good as a standalone… will probably try and lessen it a bit and lengthen it for a full song, and have my wife sing it… eventually.

Story: The feel and melody of this guitar-based melody reminded me a lot of Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah,” so that’s where the title comes from.

Story: I was falling asleep in my studio, while listening to Sarah McLachlan’s “Surfacing.” I was half-asleep when the last song, an instrumental called “Last Dance” played. I then woke up with inspiration to just turn on the keyboard and start playing whatever came to my fingers. This was the result (with only a small amount of tweaking because I am not much of a piano player and made a few mistakes).

Story: I originally wrote this as a music cue for the Fourte Music Library, but I let my friend Lance Fooks hear it while we were working on my latest worship music project, and he suggested I put lyrics to it. I put a prayer to the music, and it will be featured on my worship CD. You get to use the instrumental (and you can karaoke pray with it)!

Story: This song was a melody that I worked on while I was in law school (a long time ago). Lyrically, it was a song that spoke of the turmoil of a vampire’s identity (wrote after reading one of Anne Rice’s novels), having to live by killing others, but it was a broader analysis on identity and the struggle to find it. It has that feel of inner struggle and sadness. Might be pretty autobiographical of how I was feeling at the time, trying to survive law school.
