Story: I was in a mellow, loving mood and came up with the basic piano riff. It reminds me a lot of Henry Mancini, particularly the love theme that he wrote for the Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor/Jill Clayburgh movie “Silver Streak” (one of my faves) called “Hilly’s Theme” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lur5KIcTlWU).

Song Story: Continuing on with the “songs that start with P” theme (not on purpose), this song started with a bass guitar loop groove that sounded to me very much like one of my favorite bands “The Cure.” So, I added Cure-like synth effects, did a very basic drum, and went to town. This one is probably one of my favorite instrumentals that I have written in the last few years that has not yet had lyrics added to it.

Story: This song shows how intuitive and easy the Reason recording software is. I produced this in the first hour after I first opened the package. I was happy for the Reason software, and my giddiness was justified when I discovered these sounds. It is heavy on compression because I was just figuring out all of that on the fly, but I dig the groove. I hope that you do, too.
